Pixel Optics Inc. is a Virginia based company that is entering the global eye care market with the objective of introducing "transformational innovation" in the spectacle lens category. Described as a composite lens company, PixelOptics was founded by Ronald Blum, O.D., former General Manager of Advanced Technology for the Johnson & Johnson Spectacle Lens Group and an eye care professional who has 30 years of optical industry experience.
What is the atLast! Lens from Pixel Optics?
The atLast! is the first in a new category of lenses called "enhanced multifocals" that incorporates a new composite lens design technology to provide wearers with spacious and continuous intermediate vision that is missing in standard lined multifocals.
How does the atLast! differ from ordinary bifocals?
Ordinary bifocals only provide 2 areas of vision, distance and near, separated by a big power jump. The atLast! lenses offer four ranges of vision: distance, far-intermediate, intermediate and near. The distance and far-intermediate zones are separated by a soft power jump while the far-intermediate through near zones are continuous.
How do they differ from progressive lenses?
Unlike progressives, atLast! enhanced multifocals have an embedded segment that when combined with a power gradient delivers wider and more stable areas of vision from intermediate to near. With atLast! lenses there is a soft power jump that separates the distance one from the beginning of the far intermediate vision.
